This 5 CMTE (and LCAT CE) credit self-paced online course will provide you with insight into how composition may be used in a clinical setting to improve patient outcomes, and gives participants the opportunity to reflect on how they might integrate music composition into their own practices. 

Course Content

The course includes a brief video introduction, background readings, musical examples and analyses, and illustration of core concepts through a video example from a music therapy session..  

Principles of Clinical Composition II: Crafting Instrumental Experiences for Musical Therapy (8 CMTE & 8 LCAT CE Credits)

About

This 8 CMTE (and LCAT CE) credit self-paced online course provides therapists with the opportunity to apply ideas gained in the pre-requisite Course I in the planning and crafting of an original composition for therapy. The course includes a 1:1 consultation on your composition with the instructor, via phone, Skype or FaceTime.

Course Content

Brief video introduction, readings, musical study, independent compositional work and instructor feedback will culminate in the creation of a piece which is aesthetically motivating and provides a musical arena in which to work on specific clinical goals and objectives.
